Program Aide – Adult Day Services – Bilingual Spanish/English (Part-Time) 

The Program Aide for Adult Day Services will perform supportive client services and assist with the overall operation of the Adult Day Program. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Create and contribute to the friendly, warm, and safe environment of the program. 
  • Treat other staff, clients, volunteers, and caregivers with dignity and respect. 
  • Adhere to the Client Bill of Rights and Sunnyside Community Service’s Code of Conduct. 
  • Plan and assist in developing all program activities. 
  • Provide activity program leadership that encourages participant strengths, facilitates client participation, and promotes client independence. 
  • Assist the participant with daily living skills, such as feeding, toileting, grooming, and transferring. Provide individualized support with these tasks based upon the needs of each client and in keeping with each client’s plan of care. 
  • Observe and document participant daily activities, and assist in serving breakfast, lunch, and snacks. 
  • Greet participants and assist them in and out of the vehicles. When necessary, escort clients to their apartment and ensure they get into their apartment safely. 
  • Keep accurate statistics/records, as required. 
  • Keep program space tidy, safe, and in readiness for program participation. 
  • Attend and participate in orientation, staff education, and ongoing training. 
  • Attend daily and monthly meetings as scheduled. 
  • Notify the Program Manager of any changes, issues/problems, or observations with regard to clients and /or caregivers.  
  • Provide input into each client’s service plan, carries out each plan, and informs the Program Manager regarding needed changes to each client’s plan of care. 
  • Work cooperatively with volunteers and students to assure maximum continuity and quality of the program. 
  • Report to the Adult Day Program Manager regularly. 
  • Update CPR training. 
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned and required. 

Physical Requirements 

Frequent prolonged standing, walking, lifting, pushes and/or transfers clients; lifts supplies and equipment, frequently twists, stoops, bends, and squats. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position without compromising client care. 

Qualifications 

  • High school diploma or GED and/or certification as a Home Health Aide/Personal Care Aide or Dementia Specialist.  
  • Bilingual Spanish/English required. 
  • Related experience in home care or recreational activities with the aging and/or seniors diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or related dementias.

Schedule: Part-Time; 21 hours per week

Compensation: $20.00 – $21.97/hour
